Finding The Perfect Pitch For The French Horn

The acoustic characteristics of the French horn (most often simply called the “horn”) present a unique set of challenges. Though the horn blows more easily than a trumpet for instance, the distance between partials is much closer, which makes finding a given pitch much more challenging. Developing accuracy of pitch placement is of huge importance to the horn player! 

Bruce’s horn students learn breathing and tonguing techniques that address these issues, and therefore have fuller sounds, greater accuracy, and more endurance. They learn breathing exercises that bring greater ease of performance, more power, and increased confidence. His students regularly out-perform their peers.
